Porcelain Veneers

Sacramento porcelain veneers
Reshaping teeth doesn’t necessary mean extensive dental work. With porcelain veneers, incisors can be rebuilt to your specifications. Veneers are thin ceramic shells your dentist bonds over natural teeth. Though veneers can be constructed from several materials, porcelain veneers are the thinnest and possible veneers. This means your dentist is able to apply them to your teeth without removing much or any natural sensitive tooth structure. Additionally, porcelain mimics the properties of natural enamel, meaning that your veneer surfaces are indistinguishable from neighboring teeth.

Porcelain veneers can resolve:

  • Stained teeth
  • Cracks and chips
  • Spaces between teeth
  • Asymmetrical teeth
  • Weak or sensitive teeth

…all with minimal to no anesthesia, and within two (or occasionally three) short dental appointments with our cosmetic dentists.

LUMINEERS

Drs. Andrade and Montalvo are experienced LUMINEERS providers. If porcelain veneers are a cosmetic dental solution you are considering, Dynamic Dental recommends you spend time researching LUMINEERS. These contact lens-thin porcelain veneers are the thinnest and strongest on the dental market. LUMINEERS are hyper thin so as to allow your dentist to minimize tooth reduction and make your appointment as painless as possible. They can be fabricated in any shape or shade, even whiter than your natural teeth, permanently brightening your smile. LUMINEERS are one of the most common components of a smile makeover, as a set of LUMINEERS will transform your front teeth without any invasive procedures.

Should you decide to remove your LUMINEERS at any point, your natural teeth will be neatly preserved beneath the veneers. There simply aren’t any drawbacks to these wondrously thin and natural-seeming porcelain veneers.

The Porcelain Veneer Process

At your first appointment, your dentist will engage you in a comprehensive discussion of how you would like your teeth to look and feel. The two of you will decide just what you would like to accomplish with porcelain veneers. After choosing your new tooth shapes and shades, your Dynamic dentist will prepare teeth as necessary for the veneers. Although porcelain veneers are incredibly thin, they do still need to fit over your existing teeth, and slight reductions to tooth structure may need to be made. Your dentist will send an impression of your prepared teeth to our laboratory, where veneers will be crafted. We will adhere temporaries to your teeth so that the preparation will go unnoticed in the interim.

Your second appointment will take place about two weeks later, after your gorgeous veneers have returned from the lab. The veneers are bonded securely in place and your dentist ensures your bite is comfortable. Your new veneered smile will last for years to come, and look absolutely perfect. Patients have and will forget that they have veneers at all – the porcelain is so similar to natural tooth surface.

Veneer Aftercare

If you receive a temporary veneer, take care not to disrupt it. Temporaries are sensitive and should not be tested with sticky, chewy foods, and need to be brushed and flossed gently.
You may feel sensitivity after veneer placement, but a warm saltwater rinse (1 tsp salt per 8 oz water) and Advil or Tylenol will help until the pain subsides. Once you have adjusted to the veneer, let your dentist know if your bite feels off or uncomfortable. When brushing and flossing, focus on the area where the veneer and tooth meet at the gum line.
