When your smile is compromised by tooth loss, your life just isn’t the same. You feel uncomfortable around others due to being embarrassed about your appearance. Your career may take a hit due to loss of confidence and self-esteem. Getting dental implants can help restore your smile and quality of life! You can learn more about dental implants at Dynamic Dental, serving residents in Sacramento and Rosemont, CA.
Below, Drs. Ricardo Andrade and Denisse Montalvo answered your questions about implant treatment:
Implants are small titanium fixtures used as artificial tooth roots to anchor new teeth in place after permanent teeth go missing. These fixtures are placed in key locations inside your jaw through implant surgery. Through the process of osseointegration, the implants fuse with surrounding bone tissue to secure them in place permanently. After the implants heal, they’re topped with abutments (connectors) and permanent restorations to make your smile whole again.
Implant dentistry has been around for many years, and technology continues to improve with time. Modern implants are better and safer than ever, with a 98% success rate for most patients. Implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, so you feel no discomfort or pain. You can also request sedation for a totally stress-free, relaxing treatment.
Implants can be used to replace any number of lost teeth, using dental crowns, a fixed bridge, or a denture as your permanent restoration. By customizing your replacement teeth, we can restore your smile’s original charm and beauty. Implant restorations are also strong and enduring, making them fully compatible with an active lifestyle.
Implants are the closest to natural teeth you can get in function and appearance. The titanium implants can keep your new smile stable and secure for life! You’ll have a healthy, confident smile you can showcase with pride. Implants support jaw health by keeping your jawbone from shrinking, a common problem after losing natural teeth. Implants also prevent dental drift to keep your smile and bite in proper alignment.
Unlike traditional dentures that require special solutions for cleaning, implant teeth are fixed restorations that you brush and floss, just like real teeth. Good home oral hygiene combined with regular dental cleanings will help keep your new teeth in mint condition for years. Our team will monitor the health of your implants periodically during routine checkups.
With proper upkeep, titanium implants can last indefinitely. Quality porcelain restorations can have a lifespan of 15 – 20 years before needing an upgrade. As new restorations can be placed on the same implants, you won’t have to undergo additional surgery.
