Minor imperfections in your teeth that make you unhappy with your smile can be remedied easily with porcelain veneers. Veneers can cause chips, gaps, stains, and other tooth flaws to magically disappear, giving your smile an unblemished appearance. You can schedule veneer treatment at Dynamic Dental. For your convenience, we serve residents in Sacramento and El Dorado Hills, California.
The following FAQs provide greater insight into porcelain veneer treatment:
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin cosmetic coverings for your teeth. They’re bonded to your tooth surface to conceal imperfections that detract from your smile’s esthetics. Veneers work best on visible teeth and are custom-crafted to closely resemble your existing teeth for a natural, seamless appearance.
To qualify for veneers, you must have good oral health, all your permanent teeth, and a fully developed jaw. Drs. Ricardo Andrade and Denisse Montalvo will evaluate your smile to confirm that the problems you want to correct can be addressed with veneers. If not, we can recommend another cosmetic dental treatment.
Porcelain veneers can correct multiple smile flaws in just one treatment. Teeth that are chipped, dented, or cracked can be covered with veneers to give your smile a smooth, unblemished appearance. Veneers can be used to erase stains and discolorations, close small gaps between teeth, and improve the size or shape of thin, short, or misshapen teeth to make your smile more uniform. Slightly crooked teeth can appear straighter with veneers, saving you the expense of orthodontic treatment.
The veneer process starts with a consultation to discuss your smile makeover procedure. Together, we’ll design a smile you’re happy with and plan your treatment. Next, we’ll prepare your teeth. This entails removing a thin layer of enamel to accommodate your veneers. Your restorations will be custom-crafted in a lab from impressions we take of your prepped teeth. Meanwhile, we can apply temporary veneers to protect your teeth and reduce sensitivity. When your porcelain veneers are ready, we’ll bond them in place to make your smile transformation complete.
At Dynamic Dental, we strive to make our treatments a positive experience for our patients. If you’re concerned about pain, we can use local anesthetics to keep you as comfortable as possible during your veneer treatment.
With quality care, porcelain veneers can last up to 20 years. Caring for veneers isn’t difficult, as they only require brushing and flossing and regular dental cleanings to stay in tip-top condition. If you have a habit of chewing on ice, gnawing on pencils and pens, or using your teeth as tools, you’ll need to stop to avoid damaging your veneers.
